I arrive in Tokyo and plan to buy a ticket to Osaka. After that I plan to use the Kansai-Hiroshima Area Pass for the
1st half of my trip to cover Osaka> Kyoto (2 days), Osaka > Hiroshima (1 day), Osaka > Nara (1day) .

Then Osaka to Hakone and then continue to Tokyo. In Tokyo I was hoping to use the Tokyo Wide area pass to cover the train to Mount Fuji along with around Tokyo.

My questions are:
1) Can I buy two passes?
2) Does this combination make sense or it is better to buy direct tickets or a different pass?
3) Can any of these be used for the Shinkansen from Osaka to Odawara or is there a better option?
4) I don’t see the Tokyo wide area pass on the JR pass site. Would that be from JReast site directly?

Hi there,

Yes, you can buy two passes. The only thing worth considering is that these two passes cannot overlap. The combination in this case works and if anything is ideal because the Tokyo Wide Pass includes access to Kawaguchiko, one of the Fuji five lakes.

Unfortunately these passes cannot be used for Shinkansen between Osaka and Odawara, as this region is in between where the two passes are valid for. And yes, you will need to purchase the Tokyo Wide Pass directly from the JR East site. the Kansai-Hiroshima Pass can be found here.

Kind regards,

Alexis
