HELLO
I am Dr. Paras Shah. we are visiting from India in end of april

we will land in Tokyo - will stay for 4 nights there
then we are planning to visit - Alpine route and wish to keep Nagano as base - will stay there for 1 night
then we are planning to visit - Osaka - kyoto - nara and will keep Osaka as base for 3 nights

Our query is do you think Osaka - tokyo hokoriku arch pass is more suitable for us then JR pass?

If we select this arch pass - would we be able to travel from Nagano to Osaka in shinkansen or Shinkansen is valid only upto Kanazawa station ?

this is our first time - we are 8 adults and 6 kids

please guide

thanking you

Hi there,

You can use the Shinkansen with the Hokuriku Arch Pass up to Tsuruga station, from there you can use a ltd. express train to either Kyoto or Osaka.

This pass is a good option, if you make a return trip to Tokyo as well using the pass.

Kind regards,
Daniel
