Hi there,
Purchasing your tickets individually will save you money, but a 21-day JR Pass may also be useful in terms of planning your trip, so it depends what you want to prioritise. If you plan on changing your itinerary our JR Fare Calculator can help you see whether a JR Pass is worth it for you or not.
Hope this helps!
