Hi,

I will use JR Hida from Osaka Station to Takayama Station via Kyoto Station and Gifu Station. If I hold Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass:
1. Should I pay full cost of JR Hida? Since if I am not wrong The Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass cover JR Hida from Nagoya Station to Takayama Station. 2. How can I reach Takayama cheapest and soonest from Osaka Station?

Best regards,
Japanfan

Hi there,

JR Hida line is included in the Takayama-Hokuriku Pass, so if you purchase it you won't need to pay for any additional cost. From Osaka, you can take the Tokaido Shinkansen to Nagoya and from there you can take the Tokaido Line from Gifu. From Gifu you can change to the Takayama line and take it straight to Takayama Station.

Hope this helps!

Alexis
