Will be visiting Japan for 11 days: Tokyo - Kamakura - Hakone - Kyoto - Osaka - Koyasan. Will the JR pass be worth it and if yes when should I start the 7 day pass?

Koya-san only for a day then catch flight from Osaka

In that case I recommend buying normal tickets as you travel, as they are below the cost of a JR Pass.
