I'll be in Japan for 30 days in December. I'm flying into Tokyo and then going to Seto for three weeks (December 2-22). I'm buying a single ticket for this journey.

Will I save money if I buy a 7 day pass for my travels from December 22-29? I go to Narita Airport on December 30, but the 7 day pass will have expired. I used the Jrail Pass calculator and it looks like buying individual tickets is cheaper.

December 22 Ozone to Kyoto
December 22-25 Kyoto
December 26 Kichijoji
December 26 Yoyogi
December 28 Kamakura
December 29 Shibuya

Thanks, Grace

Hi Grace,

Your research is correct, for this route it would indeed be cheaper to just buy normal tickets as you travel then using a pass.

Kind regards :)
Daniel
