I am trying to time my travel to use the 7-day pass. Is the pass valid 7 calendar days or 168hrs (7x24h)?
Specifically, if I leave Tokyo on June 1st at 8 am, can I travel back from Kyoto to Tokyo on June 8th leaving Kyoto at 7:30am? (i.e. does the trip have to start within 168hr or complete within 168hrs)? Thanks a lot

Hi there,
The JR Pass is counted in full days, and that includes the first day of use, no matter what time you first get on the train.
Meaning, if you start using it on a Monday, then the last day of travel is the following Sunday.
Kind regards,
Daniel
