We have purchased a 7 day JR pass. We arrive at Narita Terminal 2 on June 1, 2018 at 6.50 am and leave from Narita Terminal 2 on June 7, 2018 at 6.20 pm.

Our thoughts on an itinerary at the moment are

June 1 - Narita Terminal 2 to Kyoto
June 1-4 - Local sightseeing in Kyoto
June 4 - Kyoto to Hiroshima
June 4 - local sightseeing in Hiroshima
June 5 - Hiroshima to Tokyo
June 5 -7 - local sightseeing in Tokyo
June 7 - Tokyo to Narita Terminal 2

The areas/attractions we want to visit in Kyoto are Zen Buddhist temple Kinkaku-ji,Ryoan-ji, Nishiki Market, Gion & the Higashiyama District, Uji and Fushimi Inari

The areas/neighbourhoods we want to visit in Tokyo are TSUKIJI,GINZA MITSUKOSHI, OMOTESANDO, HARAJUKU, NAKA-MEGURO, SHIBUYA, DAIKANYAMA

We are aware that some of the attractions/neighbourhoods listed above maybe walking distance.

Please let us know if the JR pass will cover the above itinerary and attractions/neighbourhoods (where local train travel like the Tokyo Metro or the Kyoto Subway is required)

Thank you in advance for your assistance

Hi there,

The JR Pass covers nearly all your travel and you'll only have a bit of travel left in Kyoto.

Most the east and north of Tokyo, for travel to Kinkaku-ji,Ryoan-ji, Nishiki Market, Gion & the Higashiyama District. You can use local buses or the Kyoto subway to go there. Travel cost would only be a couple of dollars.

For travel around Tokyo, just be sure that you go to the right stations as there are many and some are run by a different company. For instance, for NAKA-MEGURO go to Meguro station. For Ginza, go to Yurakucho station and for Daikanyama go to Ebisu.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
