We are 5 people (3 adults and 2 kids 6 & 8) , planning the following trip:
9-13 tokyo 13-14 takayama
14-15 kanazawa
15-19 kyoto (nara,...)
19-20 koyasan
20-22 osaka

*in between we could go to Hiroshima for a day trip We are not sure if a 7 days JR is enough or if we have to consider the 14days pass
I would like the most comfortable and easy/fast solution.

Can you give us yr advise?
Thanks,
Elisa

Hi Elisa,

I think you could get away with using a 7 day JR Pass for travel to Takayama, Kanazawa, Kyoto and Hiroshima given a bit of tactical planning. Activating the JR Pass on the 13th would mean that the last day of usage is the 19th, as long as you fit in your trip to Hiroshima by it, it would work out.

The JR Pass will also allow you to ride the Shinkansen.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
