I will arrive in the evening, do I need to activate my pass at the airport on arrival or is there another option?

Hi there,
You don't need to activate your pass as soon as you arrive, but if you wish to do so depending on the time you arrive you may have to wait until the morning, where you'll be able to do it at any major JR train station.
