Hi
I will be travelling to Japan from 13 Jan to 30 Jan 2024. If I purchase the 14 day JR Rail Pass on 28 September do I have to be physically in Japan to activate it on 28 December or can I activate it online and then choose the start date as 13 January?

Hi Owen,
You need to activate it in person, in Japan.
Also if you buy on the 28th, then you'd have to exchange it Dec 27th latest. So, we should issue your pass on the 29th or 30th.
