I would like to confirm children 4 years old can travel free with the family who have a JR pass?
When reserving seats for the high speed train, am I able to reserve a seat for him or can he only travel sitting on a person with a valid JR pass?

Hi there,
Each adult can bring one child for free (age 0-5), and children 6-11 can travel on a child ticket/pass (half the price of an adult).
Please note that travel for free are not entitled to a seat and will need to be on your lap if other seats are taking.
