Is it worth it to get a JR pass? For how many days? Does it include Metro Train and Shinkansen?

Change in plan…. Our new itinerary: Osaka go to Kyoto on Day 3. Then Nara the following day. Proceed to Nagoya then go back to Osaka. Day 8 and 9 in Hiroshima then Fukuoka then back to Osaka. Does this make sense? We’ll buy a 7-Day JR pass once we arrive in Osaka. Does it have to be online or can we get this at a train station? Any other advice that you can give us?

If you go to Hiroshima and Fukuoka, then I recommend a Sanyo-Sanin area pass instead. It costs a lot less than a 7-day JR Pass and covers all cities you want to go.
