Hi,

Just starting to plan for my Japan trip and was wondering if I should get the 14 or 21 days pass:

1) I am planning to fly into Sapporo and stay 1-2 days does the JR pass cover local travel around that city?
2) Does JR pass cover my route from Sapporo to these places, Otaru and Noboribetsu Onsen area?
3) Does JR pass cover my route from Sapporo all the way to Tokyo?

Basically travelling from Noboribetsu all the way to Osaka should I get a 14 or 21 days pass?

Hi there,

1.) Only local JR buses and local JR lines (such as to Otaru). Other travel like the Sapporo Subway is not included.

2.) Yes.

3.) Yes. A one way Sapporo - Tokyo alone is almost the price of a 7 day JR Pass. Going to Osaka would likely make a 14 day JR Pass pay off easily but it would depend on what other travel you may do as well.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
