hi, i am traveling family on 27 sept 2012, i would like to ask my daughter born on 01 dec 2006 (5 years old +), does she need to buy JR pass? Coz i saw the chart shows that child (6 -11 years old). Thanks a lot.

Hi there,
Provided your daughter is under 6 years old, which if she is born on 01 dec 2006 she will be until 01 dec 2012, she will be eligible for free travel without a JR Pass during september 2012.

Yes, that\s correct. Showing the passport is all you will need to do (if asked).
