Hello!

Very excited to visit Japan.
I would like to if it’s worth getting the 7 day rail pass, when to activate it and the best ways to travel in each place.

My itinerary is as follows (feel free to suggest a better route)
28th November- Land in Osaka airport
28th November to 2nd December- Kyoto
2nd -3rd December- Hakone
3rd - 5 December - Mt Fuji
5-11 December- Tokyo
11-16 December- fly north for snow
16 December - fly to Australia

Thank you for your advise.

Hi there,

Your first long trip is to Hakone, I would at the very least start using the JR Pass on this day. What about doing north for snow, have you thought about this in more detail already?

A JR Pass could be very useful going up North as well. You can use the Shinkansen as well going to Nagano, Tohoku or even Hokkaido. Which can help you a good amount in savings?

Hope this helps,
Daniel
