From Hiroshima Station to Kobe Hyogo

Hello,

I want to go from Hiroshima station to Kobe Hyugo, however according to Hyperdia http://www.hyperdia.com/cgi/en/search.html?dep_node=HIROSHIMA%20STATION&arv_node=KOBE(HYOGO)&via_node01=&via_node02=&via_node03=&year=2012&month=08&day=24&hour=11&minute=27&search_type=0&search_way=&transtime=undefined&sort=0&max_route=5&ship=off&lmlimit=null&search_target=route&facility=reserved&sum_target=7 I have to use the Nozomi train. But I thought that the JR pass doesn't cover that.

So how could I use the JR pass to get from Hiroshima station to Kobe station Hyugo? Please advise ASAP.

Hi there,

The Japan Rail Pass is valid for all shinkansen bullet trains except the Nozomi and Mizuho class trains.

To search for routes that are valid for the Japan Rail Pass holders I recommend disabling/unticking the following search options in Hyperdia:

  • NOZOMI / MIZUHO / HAYABUSA (SHINKANSEN)
  • Airplane
  • Private Railway

With these unticket, you are presented with all the Hikari and Sakura shinkansen options that you can use. Here's your search from Hiroshima to Kobe with these options deselected.

Also note that Kobe also has a bullet train terminal that you may find more convenient called Shin-Kobe. Here is your trip from Hiroshima to Shin-Kobe.
