from narita airport to Osaka

First, take the Narita Express from Narita airport to Tokyo station. There you can board the Hikari Shinkansen to Shin-Osaka. From Shin-Osaka, local JR lines run throughout the city.

The full route will take about 5 to 5.5 hours and trains depart every 30 minutes on average.

but I read that from Tokyo to shin-Osaka 2hours ride.
from Narita to Tokyo is 1 hour

My estimate is also including average transfer time and getting into the city.

Yes, the NEX is covered. The time you are seeing there is on the Nozomi Shinkansen. Using the JR Pass you would use the Hikari Shinkansen. This will take about 180 minutes from Tokyo to Shin-Osaka. You'd also likely use local trains from there to Osaka station or elsewhere in the city.
