Hetting to Mt.Koya from Nara

I am a bit confused as to the most efficient (fastest) way to get from Nara to Koyasan. I also heard something about an October atorm washing away some track.
Any suggestions?

Hi,
If you are going to Mt Koya, the Koyasan World Heritage Ticket is a good way to save money (a JR Pass can't help you with this route). So you'd need to take a JR train from Nara to Shinimamiya Stn (36 minutes). I have not heard anything about train lines still being disrupted.
