Japan for 10 days and JR activating in Narita

Hi, me and my friend will be in Japan for 10 days. we will be landed at Narita Airport around 4 PM and plan straight go to Osaka then with the fast train. we already bought the 7 day JR pass. with these followed itinerary :

day 1 landed Narita, to osaka
day 2 and 3 Osaka
day 4 Kyoto in the morning then Kyoto - Tokyo by fast train JR
day 5 - rest of days in Tokyo.

I heard I can activate my JR pass at Narita Airport is that right? then I have to go to Tokyo station if Im not wrong? thank you, I really need your advices.
