Hi there!

We’ll be going to Japan in a few weeks and we dont know if we should get the 7 days pass or the one of 14 days (because of the price difference).
This is itinerary:

Day 1- Arrive at Osaka airport- Osaka
Day 2- Osaka
Day 3- Osaka-Kyoto
Day 4 - Kyoto
Day 5- Kyoto / Nara / Kyoto
Day 6- Kyoto
Day 7- Kyoto - Takayama
Day 8- Takayama /Shirakawa-go
Day 9- Takayama
Day 10- Takayama / Hakone/ Tokio
Day 11- Tokio
Day 12- Tokio
Day 13- Tokio / Nikko/ Tokio
Day 14 - Flight from Tokio

Would you buy the 14 days pass, or get the 7 days pass and maybe use it from the day 5 to 10?

Thank you

Hi there,

I recommend using a 7-day Japan Rail Pass for your trip. As this is the period that you will travel the far by most and make very good use of the pass.

For local travel around Kansai, consider looking at a Kansai Area Pass.

Kind regards,
Daniel
