Hello,
I have an 18 night trip planned for April next year, itinerary below:
Tokyo - Kanazawa - Kyoto - Hiroshima - Hakone - Tokyo
Would one pass cover all of this travel, including the bullet train to Kyoto, or would I need several regional passes.

I would look at using a 14 day Japan Rail Pass and use it for your intercity travel and return to Tokyo before it expires. It would include travel to all the cities you want to travel to.
