Hi there,
It is not possible to upgrade with this pass. Only the base fare would be covered, and you'd have to pay the full high speed fare and Gran Class fare.

If use the 7-day Japan Rail Pass (Green Class) to travel from Tokyo to Hakodate, we can upgrade to Gran Class. How much to charge.

Hi there,
The same applies to any Rail Pass (including Green) I'm afraid.
For a Gran Class upgrade Tokyo - Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto, the extra fee would be:
¥ 28,580 pp/one way.
