Hi, my family and I will be in Japan from 26/11/2022 - 12/12/2022. We are arriving at Narita Airport on 26/11/2022. We are planning to take the bullet train to Osaka on the day. Will be staying in Osaka from 26/11/2022 - 02/12/2022. We are wanting to go to Kyoto on 29/11/2022 and Nara on 30/11/2022 for day trip.

On 02/12/2022, will be going back to Tokyo. On 03/12/2022, we are planning to go to Kamakura for a day trip. After that we will be staying in Tokyo until 12/12/2022.

Please advice if 7 days pass suits our itinerary. Also, what lines do we take to get to Osaka?

Hi there,

Yes, this is a bit of a classic, and the perfect fit for a 7-day Japan Rail Pass. You will already break more than even with a return Tokyo ⇿ Osaka and travel to the airport. Basically, all your day trips to places like Kyoto and Kamakura are then free :)

For travel from Narita Airport to Osaka, first take the Narita Express to Tokyo station. Then use a Hikari Shinkansen train to Shin-Osaka station. From there, you can use local transport into the city, including local JR lines.
