Hi all,
I’m going to Japan next June and expected to use JR Pass (national wide) to get the train from Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko (via Otsuki). I found that Kaiji trains or Fuki Excursion trains would be tue best for my choice. However, JR Pass cannot be used to reserve seat on these trains or I have to use the JR East Pass right??? Since I have checked on the JR East website and it mentioned that JR Pass cannot use to make a reservation. So how can I use JR Pass to get on these train? Thanks a lot

Hi there,

Please head to a JR Ticket Office or JR EAST Travel Service Center at Shinjuku Station. If you show them your JR Pass and request a seat on the Fuji Excursion to Kawaguchiko, they can process the payment for the Otsuki-to-Kawaguchiko section on the spot.

I hope this helps!

Kind Regards,

Mariko
