JR-Pass is the best option?

Hi

We plan to travel to Japan this November and wondering if the JR-Pass is the best option.

Nov/1 to Nov/5: Landing in Narita and staying in Tokyo (Kamakura & Hakone possibly).
Nov/5 to Nov/10: Heading to Kyoto and taking day-trip to Osaka and Nara.
Nov/10 to Nov/13: Coming back to Tokyo and departing from Narita on the 13th.

Can we use the JR-Pass for all the destinations including local trains?
If not, can you recommend?

Hi there,

Yes, the JR Pass would work well here. Think about it like this, the 7 days Japan Rail Pass is similar in price to a return ticket Tokyo - Kyoto using the Shinkansen.

Now you get 7 days of unlimited travel for about the same price :) Which you could use to travel to Kamakura, Nara, Osaka and local travel on local JR lines.
