HI, I am planning a trip. Please advise if the following 2 JR passes are correct for below itinerary:

  1. JR HOKURIKU ARCH PASS 7 days pass
    Apr 16 Tokyo to Kanazawa
    Apr 17 Kanazawa to Shirakawa-go to Takayama
    Apr 18 Takayama to Kanazawa
    Apr 20 Kanazawa to Toyama
    Apr 21 Toyama via Tateyama Kurobe Alpines Route to Nagano, to Matsumoto
    Apr 23 Matsumoto to Sendai

  2. JR Tohoku-Wouth Hokkaido Rail Pass 6 days pass
    Apr 25 Sendai to Hakodate
    Apr 28 Hakodate to Sapporo
    May 2 Fly from Sapporo to Narita.

Thanks for any suggestion.

Hi Alex,

The Hokuriku Arch pass will not cover: Tateyama Kurobe Alpines Route to Nagano, to Matsumoto
& 23 Matsumoto to Sendai. So I'm not entirely sure if this is the right fit here. With travel to Sendai added in. Also, the pass would expire on the 22nd, if activated on the 16th (each day is counted as a full day).

Then for travel to Hokkaido, the JR East- South Hokkaido pass will cost similar to a one way Sendai - Sapporo, and would not be worth it without additional travel.

Yes. You are right. I mix up the JR Pass and the Reginal Pass. I will use the 21 days JR Pass instead. Thanks.
