Hello...

Is it possible to travel thru Kansai (Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe) to Kumamoto and Nagasaki with a 14 day pass? Or are different passes required in the southern region? We're considering 1-2 days in Amakusa.

Thank you!

Hi there,

That is no problem at all! You can use the JR-Pass nation wide so no need to buy additional tickets or passes!
Don't forget to visit the beautiful coastline near Amakusa.

Have a great trip!

Thank You!

You mention the Amakusa coast. Is there a train you would recommend to view it or should this be by car or bus?

Thanks again!

Hi David,

There is no train that goes all the way there but you can take a bus from Kumamoto station.
Also renting a car is a great idea if you wish the explore the islands some more.
Once you are in the area, you can a great area by foot as well.

Enjoy Japan!
