I'll be visiting in May and arriving in KIX then departing from NRT. I'll be in Japan for a total of 13 days and plan on going to the following cities:
Osaka 1 day
Nara 1 day
Kyoto 2 days
Tokyo 9 days

Which JR pass would make the most sense for me? Does it even make sense for me to obtain? I'm debating the 7 and 14 day pass but not too which, if any, would be the most cost effective. Thanks for any advise!

Hi there,

On this route it would cost less to just buy normal tickets. Osaka, Nara and Kyoto are all within the Kansai Area and the only long trip is to Tokyo. A Japan Rail Pass would be worth it if used for a return Kansai - Tokyo.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
