Kyoto to Tokyo

Hi,

I'll be traveling for 7 days from Osaka to Kyoto to Tokyo. I'm trying to figure out the best pass to purchase for this purpose, giving me the ability to travel from Kyoto to Tokyo in a short amount of time. Which trains can you take between those two cities, and does it make a difference if I bought the area specific pass versus the general pass?

Hi Rachel,

The JR Pass is the only pass that covers the Shinkansen between Tokyo and Kyoto. You can use the Hikari Shinkansen which takes about 160minutes from one city to the other.
