Hello

We are in Japan for twenty days starting and ending in Tokyo. Our itinerary will include Tokyo, Nikko, Nagano, Kamisawa,, Kyoto, Five Lakes ( Hakone?) plus day trips to Shibu Onsen, Matsumoto, Takaoka.

The question is will the JR pass cover all trains and buses and metro? I am unsure if some shorter journeys are not included.

I am unsure whether we need a 14 day pass ( for days not in Tokyo city) or we need the full 21 days

Thank you

Hi there,

I recommend checking out our fare calculator: www.jrpass.com/farecalculator to find out if you can make savings using the pass. You can also use the JR Pass map to find all lines included: www.jrpass.com/map

The JR Pass covers all JR lines nationwide, but not other transport such as the metro or city bus. You may also need additional transport around Hakone/Fuji, depending on your exact destination.

Kind regards,
Daniel
