Greetings/hello,

We, senior citizens, have the following cities to visit during our 16 days in Japan in November i.e. Tokyo / Hakodate/ Kanazawa/ Nikko / Kawaguchiko ....

Our 1st route will be Tokyo => Hakodate => Hakodate [stay a few days] => then from Hakodate => Kanazawa. I checked and found that for the Hakodate => Kanazawa sector, as below :

<< Depart Shin-Hakodate @ ETD0935-Shinkansen Hayabusa 18 to Tokyo (Exit @ Omiya Stn. ETA 1344)
From Omiya to Kanazawa, ETD1449 Hokuriku-Shinkanzen Hakutaka 567, ETA 1720 Kanazawa >>

Questions : (1) is the above train routing /connection correct?
(2) Being not familiar with Omiya station, doesn't understand Japanese & senior citizens ... is it realistic that we catch the 1449hr /Hakutaka567 departure train to Kanazawa?

thank you in advance and sincerely looking forward to your kind support.

Hi there,

1.) Yes, looks good.

2.) I think I read it right, that you have over 1h to make the transfer? Transfers between Shinkansen trains are easy and straight forward. Likely, you will take down the escalator from the train platform, and then up another for the next train. Follow the signs for the right track number, and you will have no issue at all.

Hope that helps :)
Daniel
