Night Bus/Train from Tokyo to Hokkaido

Is there any chance that we can use our JR Pass from Tokyo to Hokkaido by night?

If not, what bus line can you suggest in terms of safest and cheaper one?

Hi there,

I'm afraid that there is no night bus to/from Hokkaido covered by the JR Pass. There are no night buses to Hokkaido in general, this is because there simply are no roads to Hokkaido. You either take the Shinkansen via the Seikan tunnel, use a ferry or fly.

Using the JR Pass I would recommend using the Shinkansen by day and make a stop over along the way if you don't want a break from train travel.
