Otsuki to Kawaguchiko

Hello
I have the JR pass and wanted to take the limited express Fuji excursion 1.
Where do I pay for the journey from Otsuki to kawaguchiko. Do I have to get down from the train and pay at Otsuki or can I pay at kawaguchiko or will someone collect on the train ?

You can pay on board, or even upon arrival.
