Hi! I am travelling over from Sydney soon and staying in Yokohama.

We are there for 13 days. We expect plenty of day trips to Tokyo while we are there and also have 2 days at Mt Fuji, then back to Yokohama before 2 days in Osaka also.

Can you please recommend if a 14 day pass is recommended and which region I should buy for?

There are 2 adults, 1 senior and 2 children.

Thanks!

Claire

Hello Claire,

You could look at using a 14 day Japan Rail Pass if do plan on doing plenty of trips from Yokohama, but it would depend on where you go. To give you some tips on maximizing the pass and your time there, I would recommend a visit to Nikko, Nokogiri-yama and maybe even Nagano to see the snow monkies.

With the pass, you can also use the Shinkansen as much as you like between Yokohama and Tokyo saving a ton of time.

There is no regional pass that would match your trip, so the JR Pass would be the only option, or use normal tickets.

Kind regards,
Daniel
