Hi, I intend to travel to Japan in April 2020. When I buy the JR pass, I am being asked for the start date of travel (usage). Does the validity of the JR pass start particularly from the date inputted by me or is valid for 7 days from the date of first usage (in case the date of first usage is different from the date provided by me while purchasing the pass).

The date we ask is an indication on the website. You can select your own starting date once you arrive in Japan.
