Hi- my wife and I are traveling to Japan for the first time and purchased the Green car JR pass. We will be traveling from Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka-Kyoto-Hakone-Tokyo.
Do we need to visit stations/offices prior to the day of travel or can we get our reserved seating immediately prior to train departure? We arrive Monday April 2 and not sure if advance reservations are necessary.

Green Seats are all by reservations only, so either get your tickets a couple days in advance or on the day of travel. Both are possible.
