Does the pass give you access to subways and buses or just rail access?

Hi there,
The Japan Rail Pass give you access to all JR operated rail lines and buses. It also includes the Hiroshima to Miyajima ferry and the Tokyo Monorail. I'm afraid it does not include subways and other non-JR buses. You can learn more about the validity of the rail pass here.
