I am taking the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Osaka and back on the same day and from Tokyo to Hamamatsu and back overnight plus perhaps a trip to Mount Fuji in addition to local trains within Tokyo from 20 to 27 November (airport rides as well). Does the 7-day pass include all of this travel?

Hi there,

The JR Pass will cover all of your travel except for local public transport in Tokyo, as the companies that operate them are separate to Japan Rail. The JR Pass will cover basic metro travel via the JR Yamanote Line which goes around central Tokyo as well as some JR Bus networks, but if you feel like you'll be using more transport in Tokyo (Osaka as well) then I'd recommend looking into a prepaid travel card such as a Suica or Pasmo card, which can be picked up from Narita and Haneda airports.

More info on these cards can additionally be found here.

Hope this helps!

Alexis
