Hello Daniel-San,

I'm looking to do a 15day trip including
Flying into Tokyo
-8 days in Tokyo (including Disneyland) -2 days in Koya -2 Days in Kyoto -3 days in Osaka Flying out from Osaka.

Will the jrpass include transportation:
-from Haneda to Tokyo city centre? -in the city centre? -From tokyo city centre to Disneyland -Night Train form Tokyo to Koya (I've heard this is possible, not quite sure. What are the conditions?) -From Koya to Kyoto -From Kyoto to Osaka -From osaka city centre to the airport ?

How do you recommend we travel around the country given the places we wish to go?

Thank you very much in advance.

Hello Martins,

1.) The JR Pass covers travel from Haneda, around Tokyo and Osaka on the JR Network, Disneyland and travel to Osaka (but not from Osaka to Koyasan), to Kyoto and (I assume) Kansai Airport.

You can use the Sunrise Express night train between Osaka and Tokyo but this train is often sold out. Instead I would recommend using the Shinkansen, which only takes 3 hours and is super comfy.

I would also recommend a day trip to Himeji Castle to get the best out of your rail pass and trip :)

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Thank you Daniel.
we appreciate your suggestions :)

How would you suggest us to go to Koyasan pls? Would it be best to do Tokyo-Koyasan or Kyoto-Koyasan?
Should we get the Jr pass for 7 or 14 days, since we'll be in Tokyo for 8days?
Also, how does the transportation in tokyo city centre works? is there a unlimited 24hrs like pass?

Thanks a lot!

Hi again,

Definitely go from Kyoto to Koya-san, it is much closer.

For the rail pass, I would either use a 7 day pass or buy normal rail tickets. It will depend where you travel and what type of train you use. I don't have enough information to say definitely, for instance will you travel to Tokyo by day using the Shinkansen now? What airport are you departing from? Will you do any other side trips?

We have a nice feature called the JR Farecalculator you can use it to compare the cost of your itinerary and see how it matches up with a JR Pass.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
