Travel Expenses - JR Pass

Hi - I am travelling with my mother and wife: Narita - Tokyo - Kawagoe - Tokyo- Kamakura - Hakone - Kyoto - Ohara - Hikone - Narita.

Using the JR Pass calculator the 14 day JR passes seems to expensive? Also when I do the maths on individual tickets / subways / region passes etc it still seems better to buy individual tickets.

Question - am I right or am I missing something? Do you have any advice?

Thank you - Reece

Hi Reece,

You are correct, however I'd look at using a 7 day JR Pass for travel to Kyoto and back to Narita Airport. The 7 day JR Pass would help you make savings on this route, given that you complete it within 7 days. You then can just buy normal tickets for the remaining days.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
