I just want to check this is the ticket that lets me travel on all of the Japan Rail trains? I want to travel from Tokyo down to Kyoto/Osaka so on - this is the ticket that lets me do that right?

Hi Bekka,
Yes, the full Japan Rail Pass (discussed here) is the rail pass that lets you travel all across Japan. The only trains you'll not be able to use are the Nozomi and Mizuho class shinkansen (but other shinkansen are all fine).
