Hello,

I just bought my 7 day jr pass today but after doing some research... I'm confused and not sure did I buy the right pass or not as i need to travel from Osaka to Narita... Can I use my 7 day pass to travel from Osaka to NRT because i noted from the JapanRail.net which indirectly saying the 7 day pass cannot be used from Osaka to NRT or Tokyo..... My agenda is as follow and could someone please tell me what pass should I be using? Thanks!!!!

From 4/14 thru 4/22

NRT to Shibuya

Tokyo to Hakone

Hakone to Kyoto

Kyoto to Osaka

Osaka to NRT

Hi there!

Looking at your itinerary I think you made the right choice.

You can use your rail pass to travel from Osaka to NRT - here is a sample itinerary for you.

Lets take a look at the ticket prices for your trip to see if you're making the right choice with a 7 day pass (¥28,300):

  1. Tokyo > Odawara: ¥3840, (35mins, 83km)
  2. Odawara > Kyoto: ¥11950, (160mins, 429km)
  3. Kyoto > Osaka: ¥540, (28mins, 42km)
  4. Osaka > Narita airport terminal 1: ¥16650, (272mins, 635km)

TOTAL: ¥32980 for 4 legs

As you can see, with a 7 day pass you make a minimum saving of ¥4680 over standard tickets, and also have the flexibility to use all JR lines during this period if your plans change.

Hope this helps!
