Hello,

I am travelling to Japan for 10 days with my family.

I would like to know if I should get the 7 days JR Pass, when I should activate the pass and how to maximize the usage. Will the JR pass cover all the routes that I planned to cover?

Day 1 : Arrive into Haneda
Day 2 : Tokyo Area – Tsukiji- Asakusa-Odaiba
Day 3 : Tokyo – Osaka
Day 4 : Osaka
Day 5 : Osaka – Kyoto
Day 6 : Kyoto
Day 7 : Kyoto – Hakone
Day 8 : Hakone-Gotemba-Tokyo
Day 9 : Tokyo – Disneyland
Day 10 : Depart from Narita

Will I still need to purchase the suica card for travelling within Tokyo?

Hi there,

The first big and expensive route in your itinerary is Tokyo - Osaka on day 3. It would make sense you use your JR Pass from this day. It would then be valid until and including day 9.

A Suica card can still be nice for your other days in Tokyo.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
