Hello me and 3of my friends are travelling from tokyo to Osaka and travel around Kyoto, staying there for 3-4days then back to Tokyo. We are planning to travel via the bullet train however we dont know which will be the cheapest and what pass should we get?

Hi there,

A 7-day JR Pass is a good option to consider here. The cost of the pass is about the same as a return ticket Tokyo - Kyoto using the Shinkansen bullet trains. Any travel after this is basically what you'll save. This can be local travel in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. Travel to the airport and perhaps a day trip somewhere.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
