We are travelling to Japan from 25 Nov to 5 Dec 2023 and intend to use JR pass within these dates. Kindly advise what is best time to order it and will it be valid if we order it around end August or 1st Sep. Pls advise.
Also do we need Japan visa before booking for JR pass??

You can order starting 3 months ahead of time (or you can order now and we will dispatch later). Also see:

You do not need a visa when you purchase the JR Pass, but you do need to Japan under a tourism visa, for many this is received upon arrival.
