Hello,

We will be traveling in Japan for two weeks( 9- 22/4) in April 2023. Our itinerary is as follows: (arrival and departure from narita airport)

9-13/4 Tokyo (including day trip to nikko)
13-14/4 hakone
14-18/4 Kyoto (Day trip to Nara)
18-19/4 Osaka
19-20/4 mount koyasan
20-21/4 Osaka
21-22/4 Tokyo

I would really appreciate if you could help us decide whether it would be better to Purchase the jrpass (7 or 14 days) or if you could please let us know What would be our best alternative? If I were to buy a 7day jr pass at which part of the trip would I activate it and start using it ?

Thank you very much in advance.

Evie

Hi EvieMic,

You are in the spot between a 7-day JR Pass and a 14-day JR Pass. A 7-day pass would be cost-efficient here, but you'd need to travel more for a 14-day pass to help you make savings. As such, buying normal tickets will likely be the best option.

Kind regards,
Daniel
