Hello,
I purchased a 7 day JRPass and I want to maximize it's use. Please I am requesting what JR trains to take to for my itinerary below. Do I need to purchase the Suica or Pasmo card?

  1. Hotel Brighton City Osaka Kitahama( (1 Chome-1Fushiminachi Chuo Ward , Osaka) to Sagano Bamboo Forest (Arashiyama, Kyoto)

  2. Arashiyama, Kyoto to Todaiji Temple and Deer Park (Nara)

  3. Hotel Brighton to Owakudami(Hakone)

  4. Hotel Brighton to Shibuya (Tokyo)

Thank you.

Hi there,

An IC card is always recommended, you can use it to travel on almost any transport not included in the JR Pass or even just use it to pay for stuff at the convenience store.

For travel times, I recommend learning to plan with Hyperdia this way you can find any route/timetable and more. It's a great tool for planning with the JR Pass. We also have a useful interactive map with all JR lines included. The best train connection can depend on what time and day you travel.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
