Do u think 2 nights in Osaka and 2 nights in Koyoto is too much of switching hotels? I was thinking maybe staying in Osaka from 6/28-7/2 and just doing a day trip to Koyoto during this time only so that way we aren’t wasting time traveling?? I will be traveling with a 10 and 8 years old.
Hi there,
It's just 30 minutes by normal train between Kyoto - Osaka. Making your base in either of these cities and doing a day trip or two works quite well. It's not worth it to me to go through the check-in/check-out procedures, carry my luggage around and wait until check-in if it's just for 2 days.
With the JR Pass you can even take the Shinkansen between Shin-Osaka and Kyoto, that's as little as 15 minutes and you travel in style and comfort.
