Hello,
First of all, thank you in advance for your help and insight. This forum is so busy with all kinds of questions, including some very similar to mine. I’ve read many of your answers and wanted to double-check that I’ve understood the JR Pass options correctly.
Here is my itinerary:
Sept. 20–24: Tokyo (possibly using a Tokyo city pass)
Sept. 24–28: Hiroshima / Miyajima / Iwakuni / Kure or Onomichi (possibly the Setouchi cycling route, depending on the weather)
Sept. 28–Oct. 2: Osaka / Himeji / Nara
Oct. 2–8: Kyoto / Uji
Oct. 8–10: Shizuoka or Hakone/Kawaguchiko, depending on the weather
Oct. 10–18: Tokyo (possibly using a Tokyo city pass)
Oct. 18: Narita before my flight home
If I understand your previous answers correctly, it would be better not to purchase the nationwide JR Pass and instead get the Kansai-Hiroshima Area Pass for the Hiroshima/Osaka/Kansai portion of the trip.
Did I understand the concept correctly, or is there another option you would recommend based on this itinerary?
Again, thank you very much for your help!
